Losses acquired by old flick Puli starring Vijay is giving producers PT Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens a tough time for releasing their next films. The producers had to give away 1.5 crore compensation to avoid delay the release of Pokkiri Raja and Iru Mugan. While, Jiiva starring Pokkiri Raja is produced by Selvakumar under PTS Films International, Vikram’s Iru Mugan has been produced by Shibu Thameens under Thameens Shibu Arts.

The producers settled to pay the compensation after a two-day meeting with the producers' council and the Joint Federation of Distributors and Theatres. Selvakumar, who attended the meeting said, "The meeting had veterans like Kalaipuli Thanu, Tirupur Subramaniam, and others. We are happy with the outcome. At the end of the day, everyone wants the issue to be settled so that it does not impact yet-to-be-released films. Pokkiri Raja will hit the screens on March 4, as planned”.

While producer Shibu cleared that they were not forced to pay the money. The producer told the media, “The early morning shows of Puli meant for the fans were cancelled. Apart from this, one regular show in Coimbatore and Kerala were also affected, and theatre owners asked if the amount lost due to this could be settled. For now, we have decided to settle this by paying some amount during the release of each of our next two films. The amount, in total, will be approximately 1.5 crore”. Iru Mugan will also release as per scheduled, in July.
