The Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Rajini Murugan’ is gearing up for its release. The film was supposed to hit the screens on September 17, on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. But according to the latest reports, the release of the flick is likely to be postponed.

Reportedly, the reason behind pushing back the release date is that the makers want at least 500 screens for their film, as they are very confident of it. But only 300 screens are available as of now, and three more films are likely to release on the same date. To garner more profits and avoid competition at the box office from other films, the release date may be postponed.

The trailer of the flick released a week back and got a positive response from the audiences. The film is helmed by Ponram and is bankrolled by Lingusamy's Thirupathi Brothers. It will feature Keerthy Suresh as the female lead and will have music by D. Imman.
