Kalaipuli S. Thanu has bankrolled many hit films. The veteran producer has funded two big ventures, Vijay’s ‘Theri’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’. Both the films are in post-production stages and the pre-business for the films has begun. For Kerala regions, the producer has asked for Rs. 13 crore for both the films and producer Shibu Thameens is close to striking the deal for Rs. 12 crore, a record for Tamil films in Kerala.

Vijay will be hoping to bounce back with ‘Theri’, his last film ‘Puli’ bombed at the box office. Now, because of ‘Puli’, Jiiva’s upcoming film ‘Pokkiri Raja’ is getting affected. The film has been bankrolled by P. T. Selvakumar, who also co-produced ‘Puli’ which miserably failed at the box office. As a result, some distributors have issued a Red Card for Jiiva’s film because of losses incurred from ‘Puli’. This might affect the release of ‘Pokkiri Raja’ which is slated for February 28 release.

Vijay might be one of the factors affecting Jiiva’s film, but the star is a big name in Kerala. A film titled '3 Rasigargal' will be about three Vijay fans. Moreover it will have a special song which will have titles of all the 59 films that the actor has done. Speculations are rife that the Thalaivaa star will be playing a cameo in the flick.
