    Since the day southern superstar Rajinikanth conducted meetings with his fans, a lot has been hypothesized about his entry into politics. However, Thalaivar has put all the speculations to rest by saying his meetings with his fans are not an indication of him joining politics. “The meetings were long due for him”. “No, no. Absolutely there is no politics,” he said when reporters asked him if there was any likelihood 'major announcements' at the end of his meetings with fans.

    The unanticipated announcements by him about the meetings had led many people theorize on whether he would mark his entry into politics, a move that the 66-year-old has been turning down for a very long time. His fans have been encouraging him to join politics for the past several years. Rajinikanth last held his meetings with his fans in 2009, post the success of his film ‘Shivaji’.

    On the work front, the Kabaali actor will be next seen in ‘2.0’, which is a sequel to his previous hit ‘Enthiran’, where he will be seen playing a dwarf. The movie also features actors Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film is in its post-production stage and is slated for a 2017 Diwali release.
