Malayalam blockbuster ‘Drishyam’ was remade in Tamil as ‘Papanasam’ with Kamal Haasan in the lead.  The film turned out to be one of the greatest films of 2015. The film was first offered to superstar Rajinikanth, but he refused to star in the film as he felt the decision would have not been appreciated by his fans. But now, again there is a chance for him to star in the remake of a hit Malayalam film.

Reports suggest that the Lingaa actor is set to star in the remake of hit Mollywood film ‘Bhaskar the Rascal’ starring Mammootty. Director Siddique, who helmed the original version, revealed in a recent interview that he will be directing the Tamil version with Rajinikanth in the lead. However, an official announcement is yet to be made about the project.

Currently, the actor is busy shooting for Enthiran sequel film ‘2.0’ and has recently wrapped up his upcoming film ‘Kabali’. Reportedly, he will begin shooting for the remake after wrapping up his current projects in early 2017. It will be interesting to see the duo work together and great things can be expected from their film.
