Speaking to a leading daily, Creative Head of Lyca Productions Raju Mahalingam said, "When we approached Rajinikanth to grace the event as the chief guest, he readily agreed to be part of the function."

When Rajinikanth was invited by the foundation as the chief guest, he willingly agreed to grace the event. Rajinikanth will formally hand over the keys to Tamil emigrants on April 10 in Vavuniya. A sum of Rs 22 crore was spent to complete this project. On work front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Shankar's '2.0', bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
