Rambha accused of harassing her sister-in-law

Rambha accused of harassing her sister-in-law

Rambha is in the news again, but this time for  wrong reasons! The actress is accused of harassing her brother's wife for dowry. Pallavi, her sister-in-law, has reportedly lodged a complaint against the entire family. However, her brother Srinivas Rao claims that the allegations are false and Rambha's name has been dragged unnecessarily.

"Rambha's name does not figure in the complaint. Anyway, Pallavi had lodged a complaint in February, and I've got relaxation for it from a court in Hyderabad. I don't know from where this new case has originated," says Srinivas. "Moreover, Rambha is settled in Toronto, and hasn't visited India for the past four years. Pallavi has said that she was beaten and harassed by Rambha. How can she harass Pallavi from Toronto?" he adds.

Srinivas further says, "On February 4, I'd filed a case in Chennai, saying that Pallavi's family had not returned Rambha's wedding jewellery that they had borrowed. When they got to know of this, they lodged a counter complaint in Hyderabad on February 10, saying we had harassed Pallavi for dowry. Her father called me in between, asking me to take back the complaint if we didn't want them to press more charges. I believe it's all just an eyewash and a way to divert the police investigation. The complaint they had filed only has my name. My sister or my parents' names do not appear in it. Earlier as well, there have been instances of Pallavi's mother borrowing jewellery and not returning it." He adds, "I think the media got wind of this now and Pallavi has played the cards to her advantage. She must have mentioned me as being Rambha's brother, and that's how my sister's name has also got dragged into it."

Talking about his sister, Srinivas remarks, "She is holidaying in London with her family, and she was amused when she heard about it. Her husband is a well-to-do industrialist and even she has her own savings. There's no need for her to harass my wife for money."
