The controversy surrounding Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa doesn’t seem to end. While there has been no relief for the distributors demanding compensation yet, producer Rockline Venkatesh knocked the doors of the court to request for a stay.  Following his appeal, the court has ordered the distributors not to proceed with any kind of negative campaigning across any media against the producer.

The fight between distributors and producer Rockline Venkatesh started since the day Lingaa was released as the movie has caused a loss of Rs. 40 crore for distributors in Tamil Nadu. While producer Venkatesh had previously offered a 10 percent reimbursement, the distributors were not happy with the amount and asked for a compensation of Rs. 33 crores.

However, the plea was rejected by the producer, following which disappointed distributors had decided to go on a mass begging protest. “They’ve made us beg for the refund. And we will do it as we’ve run out of options. We will beg right outside Rajinikanth’s house,” distributor Singaravadivelan had earlier stated as they want the megastar to help settle this amount. But with the court’s order, distributors will have to wait for fate.
