Rohini Looking For Crowdfunding To Complete Her Directorial Debut

Venmegam actress, Rohini, will be making her directorial debut with the film ‘Appavin Meesai’. The shooting for the film, which is based on a real-life incident, has been completed and is now in the post-production phase. The actress is looking for crowdfunding to complete her film and has stated that she needs 40 lakhs for the post-production.

Rohini revealed that Pawan Kumar, director of Kannada film ‘Lucia’, suggested the crowdfunding route. She is good friends with Pawan who developed Lucia through crowdfunding. ‘Appavin Meesai' tells the story of a young boy whose money is stolen on his way from Kolkata to Kanchipuram. He decides that he will only go home once he recovers the stolen money. The movie revolves around the events that took place after he decides to recover his belongings.

The cast for ‘Appavin Meesai’ includes Cheran, Pasupathy, Nasser, Nithya Menen and Salim Kumar. Debutant Hari Prasad will be playing the young boy. Rohini spoke about the cast and shared that Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty, who is part of the technical team, is working for free.
