    Rumours quashed: No biopic being made on Mani Ratnam, confirms Rensil

    The latest rumour flirting in Kollywood was that a biopic is being made on Mani Ratnam by filmmaker Rensil D'Silva.  According to sources, Rensil who has done the scripting is now on a lookout to cast someone who can do justice to the role.Butwhen contactedRensil, he replied in negative and said that he is being misquoted and the news is just a rumour.

    Rensil is presently working with Mani Ratnam on his upcoming film. "It's a film Mani and I have written together. We'd started work on it in 2007, and at that time, Mani had wanted me to direct it. So, I had just said that Mani and I had this script which I wanted to direct next. It's a biopic, about a businessman's travels and his rags-to-riches story, a man who started his own company and made it big," says Rensil. He further adds, "And now, I am making this film with Karan Johar. But still, even though the movie is not on Mani, it's got his magical touch in dialogues and visualization of the story."

    Mani Ratnam, who is widely regarded as one of the leading directors in Indian cinema is presently working on his untitled film which is said to be an urban love story starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in lead. The veteran director, who has six National Awards to his credit, got critical acclaim with Mouna Ragam. Mani was honoured with Padma Shri in 2002.
