Santhosh Prathap To Play Postman In ‘Thapalkaran’

Actor Santhosh Prathap ventured into films with ‘Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam’ in 2014. He was recently seen in Kannan Rangaswamy’s thriller ‘Dhayam’. According to recent reports, the actor has signed debutant director Udhayakumar’s upcoming film, which is titled ‘Thapalkaran’.

The movie will have a significant message. Talking about his project, Udhayakumar was quoted as saying, “It has elements of love and sentiment. But the highlight of the film will be the message that we will be conveying”.

The director also revealed that Santhosh will essay the role of a postman in the film. “We highlight the issue of old-age pension and other problems that happen within the post-office. We want to bring to light the old-age pension scheme and how people should not be cheated. Even though it has a message, the film will not be too preachy”, Udhayakumar added.

The flick will star Niharika as the female lead. Other actors like Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Manobala and Munish Kanth have also been brought on board to play significant roles. The movie is set in Gobichettipalayam but will also be shot in Chennai and Coimbatore.
