Shathiga Lauded For Her Performance In Nenjil Thunivirundhal

When a child acts in serials or films, there are assumptions that they will go on become professional actors. Tamil cinema has seen many child artists who have become successful actors. Adding to the list is Shathiga, who has acted in over 30 films and a handful of television soap operas.

Shathiga, who made her acting debut when she was 2-year-old, was recently seen in Nenjil Thunivirundhal which was directed by Suseenthiran. Though she did not play the lead role in the movie, but was appreciated for her brilliant performance. This is not the first time that Shathiga has worked with Suseenthiran.

Talking about her association with the director, she said, “Although, I have acted in films from my childhood, I gained good recognition through Naan Mahaan Alla. I have also become a regular in his films. Along with me, there are also other artistes who will be seen in Susee’s sir’s films regularly. Whenever sir calls me, I would instantly go to the shooting spot and then only listen to his narration. Even if my character’s screen-time is less, he would make sure that it gets noticed by people. My characterisation in films like Naan Mahaan Alla, Paayum Puli (as Vishal’s younger sister), Maaveeran Kittu (friend of Sri Divya) and Nenjil Thunivirundhal are examples of his sincerity.”

Shathiga made her acting debut with the serial Mangai. Her first film was Seeman’s directorial ‘Veera Nadai’. She shot to fame after playing Vijay’s younger sister in Kuruvi.
