South Indian playback singer Vijay Yesudas is all set to try his hands in acting. The young singer, known for his melodious voice, has apparently been roped in to play a cop in Dhanush-starrer ‘Maari’. “Obviously, Vijay does not have the same share of screen space like Dhanush. But he has a very important role. Nothing much can be revealed about this project. But Vijay will shine in this movie," a source close to the development had previously confirmed to media.

Talking to a leading English daily, the debutant actor informs, "Playing the role of a cop is a completely different experience for me and I am enjoying it. It feels good to sport a khakhi outfit and walk around in the set. But for me, it’s all about performing well and doing justice to the role." He further adds, "Taking some acting tips from Dhanush himself is enough for me. I can learn a lot from him. The entire team is very supportive, and has helped me to grow as an actor."

Directed by Balaji Mohan and co-produced by Sarathkumar, Radhika Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen, the comedy flick is all set to hit the screens this summer.
