SR Prabhakaran Talks About His Film ‘Sathriyan’

The upcoming action drama film titled ‘Sathriyan’ has been directed by SR Prabhakaran who recently spoke to Deccan Chronicle and shared some insight on the project. He said that the flick is not a typical gangster movie. Prabhakaran also spoke about the lead pair in his film, Vikram Prabhu and Manjima Mohan.

“It is not like the usual cinematic gangster movies that you come across in Tamil cinema. This is a realistic narration of a gangster’s lifestyle. You will never see the hero Vikram Prabhu onscreen, but only the character Guna”, the director explained. Talking about Manjima, Prabhakaran stated that he saw her performance in the Malayalam film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ and found her suitable for the role of Niranjana in his film.

The director made his debut with ‘Sundarapandian’ which was a huge success. It was also a rural gangster movie starring M. Sasikumar, Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon. Talking about ‘Sundarapandian’ and his career in general, Prabhakaran said that he wants to create an identity of his own through several impactful films.
