He failed to hit a six in cricket. After the controversial cricketer Sreesanth was knocked out from cricket, he turned into acting. He makes his debut with the Tamil film Team 5, which will hit the theatres this Friday. Sreesanth is happy that his debut film is finally releasing, though his debut Hindi film is yet to release.

“My dad and sister are actors and my brother is into production. Cinema is not new to me. I have been passionate about films right from my school days. I have watched many Rajini and Kamal sir films”, he said.

The former cricketer said that he was forced to choose between cricket, studies and dance where he opted for cricket. “I chose cricket and I grew to the level of playing with Tendulkar and went on to be a part of the World Cup  winning team! Now due to certain circumstances, I am here in films.” Team 5 will feature Sreesanth as a bike racer for which he went to Mumbia to take up special training it. “I am very happy that I am getting launched in Tamil,” he said.

When asked about his dream role, the actor said that he doesn’t have a problem doing any role, including negative too, provided they are meaty and powerful. He will be seen portraying a negative role in Kannada film Kempegowda 2.
