Sridevi Files Case Against ‘Puli’ Makers

Vijay’s ‘Puli’ hit the theatre screens last month. Just a day before the film’s release, the team of the film was raided by Income Tax officials. More trouble awaited the producers as the film failed to perform at the box office. Now, they are again in news and not for good reasons.

According to reports, Sridevi, who played the role of a vicious queen in the Chimbu Deven directorial, has filed a case against the makers of the flick. The actress, who made a comeback to Kollywood after 30 years, alleged P.T. Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens of not making complete payment. The actress is yet to receive a balance of Rs. 50 lakhs from the producers.

Sridevi charged a whopping amount of Rs. 5 crores for the fantasy-adventure. Reportedly, the makers did not clear her remuneration after repeated requests from the actress. Eventually, she lodged a complaint at Mumbai Producers Council. Currently, the case has been referred to Tamil Producers Council for further proceedings.
