Sruthi Menon Goes For Performance Oriented Roles

Stylist Sruthi Menon, who styles clothes for films and television commercials, made her acting debut with the movie Peechankai which hit the theatres recently. The story revolved around a pick-pocketer who suffered from the alien-hand syndrome. The film showed Sruthi playing the role of female pick-pocketer who used to plan and commit crimes along with her husband (played by Arun) and hero (RS Karthik).

However, the actress who has been a part of 10 short films chooses the movies after carefully going through the scripts. She doesn’t believe in glamorous roles but decides to do any movie if she gets to do performance-oriented roles. “It’s better to be a popular character artiste than being a heroine who doesn’t add any value to the story,” she said.

Menon has two Tamil projects in her bag. One of the projects is directed by Sundaram which will also feature Anju Kurien and Ananth Nag, while the other one is directed by Pavel Navageethan.  She will be seen playing the lead’s friend in Sundaram’s film, while she essays the role of a psychiatrist in the latter.
