Suhasini Maniratnam To Write And Direct A Play?

The wife of the veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, Suhasini Maniratnam, is known for her works in the south industry. She is primarily an actress, but has also written dialogues and directed a couple of films. The famous actress made her film debut in 1980 with a Tamil film.

Suhasini is now all set to mesmerise the theatres industry as well. The actress has penned an English play and is looking forward to direct it too. Reportedly, the play is inspired by an episode of the book 'Thinking on my Feet'. This book is written by her father and Kamal Haasan's elder brother Charu Haasan.

Mrs. Mani Ratnam is not acting it the play. The play will feature expert theatre personality Y. G. Mahendra, film actors Prasanna, Thalaivasal Vijay and popular V. J. Ramya as its main cast members. As per the hearsay, the play will be staged during the Gollapudi Srinivas Award distribution function to be held in Chennai on August 12.
