    Surya’s ‘C3’ Exempted From Entertainment Tax

    Filmmaker K.E.Gnanavel Raja who has produced the movie ‘C3’, the third part of Singham franchise, must be on cloud nine. He has a reason to be joyous. After all, his objective of changing his movie’s name has been accomplished.

    The Tamil Nadu government has exempted the much awaited Surya-starrer ‘C3’ from paying entertainment tax. Industry grapevine is that the filmmaker changed the film’s name, which was hitherto called as 'S3' denoting 'Singam 3, to C3 so that it can be exempted from entertainment tax. It is well known that the Tamil Nadu State Government grants 30 percent Entertainment Tax exemption to the movies that bear Tamil title.

    The movie which is directed by Hari with Suriya playing the lead role of Duraisingham IPS will hit the screens on January 26.  Audience will also see stars Shruti Haasan, Anushka Shetty and Thakur Anoop Singh in the film. While Anushka was seen in the 2010 and 2013 instalments of the series, Shruti is another addition and will play the role of a journalist.
