Actor-turned-producer Thiagarajan bagged the remake rights of Vikas Bahl’s 2014 blockbuster comedy drama film ‘Queen’ in all the four South Indian languages back in 2014. The flick starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role depicted the transformation of an under-confident New Delhi-based Punjabi girl who embarks on her honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam by herself after she was ditched by her fiancé a day before their wedding. Now, it seems that the time has come to set the movie’s remake rolling.

According to recent media reports, the Kollywood version of the critically acclaimed Bollywood flick will star actress Tamannaah stepping into Kangana’s shoes. However, official confirmation on her playing the female lead in ‘Queen’ remake is yet to be made. The actress was seen in three movies this year: Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Dharma Durai’, ‘Thozha’ and ‘Devi’.

The remake will be helmed by veteran actor-director Revathi who shot to fame with Salman Khan starrer ‘Love’ (1991) in Hindi cinema. She was seen essaying the role of Alia Bhatt’s mother in romantic comedy drama ‘2 States’ (2014). The screenplay and dialogues will be penned by another famous actor-director Suhasini.
