    Film director A. L. Vijay’s Thalaivaa starringIlayathalapathy Vijay in the lead is facing political rage. TheTamil action-drama was high on demand with the audience as the movie tickets were getting sold like hot cakes but after receiving threat calls from political activists, the bookings have been blocked.

    News has been learnt that members of the political group claim that Thalaivaa starring Amala Paul, Ragini Nandwani and Abhimanyu Singh in the lead is based on politics. An industry insider revealed, "The tickets for most shows for Friday and Saturday were sold out in most theatres in the city, but since afternoon all theatres have blocked advance booking for Thalaivaabecause they are being threatened by political activists. According to these activists, the film is taking a political dig at some sensible issues, which has not gone down well with these members."

    Vijay contradicted to the political group’s statement and cleared the rumours saying, “It's a complete family entertainer with all the necessary ingredients including romance, action and comedy. This is not a political film as some miscreants claim. It's not against any political group or individuals.” The director added that the film is expected to release on its scheduled date i.e. Aug. 9. The producers are engaged in the meetings to sort the issue by today evening. Hope Thalaivaa gets a smooth start this Friday.
