Thalaivaa to hit Tamil Nadu theatres on August 20

Finally the wait is over. After 11 days’ delay, Vijay starrer Thalaivaa has finally bagged a release date for 500 screens in Tamil Nadu. The big day will come tomorrow, August 20. The news has been confirmed by the director A.L. Vijay himself.

Filmmaker Vijay told PTI, "Yes. The release date is August 20. It is confirmed.” Following a special request from the distributors of the film, Vendhar Movies, the tag line of the film 'Time to Lead' has been cut out from all advertising components and promotional content. The removal of the content has been confirmed by actor Vijay himself.

A collaborator of Vendhar Movies, Amma Creations Siva, , confirmed that the film will be screened in 500 theatres in Tamil Nadu. Thalaivaa, which also stars Amala Paul, was originally slated to release on August 9 but due to some security reasons including bomb threats the screenings were halted at TN theatres while the film is running successfully worldwide.
