Thondan Will Highlight Social Issues: Samuthirakani

Director Samuthirakani is ready with his Thondan, and he the film is touted to be a crime drama. The flick is based on a real life story, and has Vikranth in the lead role. Meanwhile, Kani will be seen portraying the character of an ambulance driver, Maha Vishnu.

“Though the title has political connotations, it is not one! The film is based on a real incident where an engineering student was brutally murdered in her classroom by a senior, whose advances she spurned. I play an ambulance driver, Maha Vishnu, who wants to see everyone around him happy. Vishnu is termed as the lord of protection and hence my character is named after him”, reveals Kani.

He added that the movie will also touch upon other social issues, such as farmer’s plight and Jallikattu. On Thondan, Vikranth added, “Kani anna has been closely watching my work for a long time. I have learnt a lot from the team. I am proud to be part of a good film”. The movie also has Sunainaa playing a schoolteacher in the film, and opposite number to Kani.
