Piracy is becoming a common issue in the South Indian entertainment industry. After Malayalam movie Premam, it is Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam, which has leaked online. Two days after the flick released in theatres, it was uploaded online; leaving the makers in deep trouble.

Director Jeethu Joseph revealed that they are going to lodge a complaint against the anti-piracy wing of Tamil Nadu. Joseph told PTI, “It is really shocking that the pirated copies of the movie have been uploaded in many online sites soon after its release. We will surely take up the issue and fight it legally”. He added, “The company has found that the links of the movie have been uploaded in some of the sites. But they can only remove those uploads but have no capacity to take action against those behind the act”.

Papanasam is a remake of Mohanlal starrer Malayalam flick Drishyam. Besides Haasan, the film also stars Gauthami, Asha Sarath, Anant Mahadevan, Kalabhavan Mani, Niveda Thomas and Esther in prominent roles. The action thriller film released on July 3.
