Uma Riyaz To Play A Cop In Saamy Square

Seems like filmmakers love actress Uma Riyaz in cop avatar. After playing the role of a sincere police officer in Arulnithi-starrer Mouna Guru, Uma will once again be donning Khaki in her next film Saamy Square. The film which stars Vikram as the male lead is a sequel to Saamy which released in 2003.

Talking about her role in the flick, the actress said, "I play one of the officers who is part of the close-knit group of Vikram's character in the movie. I am happy that I've been getting meaty roles to play and I joke with my friends that going by the trend, I might end up as the next Vijayashanthi. That said, I am really enjoying the roles that I am doing."

Not only in Mouna Guru, Uma also played the role of a police officer in the movie Chennai Viduthi along with her husband. Talking about Chennai Viduthi, she said, "It was an experimental Tamil movie mainly made for the film festivals circuit. Both my husband Riyaz and I played police officers in the movie." Saamy Square is written and directed by Hari.
