Vairamuthu Clarifies On Rumours Of Him Being Unwell

From yesterday, gossip mills were churning out rumours that renowned poet and lyricist Vairamuthu is not well. Reports that surfaced suggested that Vairamuthu has been admitted to a city hospital. Soon the news started spreading like a forest fire.

To put the rumours to rest, lyricist's son Madhan Karky clarified on Twitter, "News spreading about dad is not true. We are here together in hospital for our annual health check up". Vairamuthu too tweeted to bury the rumours. He posted, "It's a habit of mine to get a complete medical check up done every year. The reports from the hospital indicate that I'm perfectly fine. I'm grateful for the love and concern that everyone is showing towards me".

The tweet from the award-winner stopped the rumours from going far. On a related note, he was awarded the National Film Award six times for Best Lyricist, the most won by any Indian lyricist. Vairamuthu received Padmashri in 2003 and Padmabhushan in 2014.
