'Vanamgan’s' Release Date Gets Postponed To June 23

Jayam Ravi's fans may have to wait for some more time before they can watch his upcoming movie 'Vanamgan'. The movie which was scheduled to hit the screens on May 19, 2017 has been postponed to June 23, 2017. The flick has been produced by Vishal.

So now you may be wondering what led the makers shift the release date of the film. Well, if you thought that the reason for shifting the release may be due to delay in shooting, then you are wrong. Though the shooting is complete and the film has also been passed by Central Board of Film Certification, however, Vishal who is also the President of Tamil Film Producers Council advised the makers to postpone the release. The censor board passed the film with a U certificate.

A press statement from director Vijay who has also produced the film under his Think Big Studios banner states "Though we were ready to release the film on 19th May 2017, Tamil Film Producers Council President Thiru Vishal have advised us not to release the film, as the Tamil film industry is planning for a shut down of new films release and shooting from 30th May, which will leave hardly 11 days for the film in theaters. Even our distributors have cautioned against releasing the film without this clarity on the proposed strike.  We are left with no option other than postponing the film's release to June 23, 2017."
