Venkat Prabhu Will Portray The Role Of Cop In Kalavu

Director Venkat Prabhu has been signed in to play a role of a cop in Murali Karthik’s upcoming movie titled Kalavu. He also shot certain portions of his scenes in the film. Apart from Prabhu, the movie also features Karunakaran, Kalaiyarasan and Abirami in the lead roles.

When asked why he chose Venkat to essay the role of a cop, the director said, "He asked me, 'While the audience know only my humourous side, why me for a cop role?.' I wanted him to do this character, as this film is close to reality. Most of the cops in films are serious and scary. But, I wanted to portray a cop who is so real and that's why I chose Venkat. His character is not funny, but it is not very rugged either. He plays a major role in it, and his portions have come out really well."

The movie which is believed to be a thriller is in its final stage of shoot. The film will show Kalaiyarasan and Karunakaran work at a call centre. Kalaiyarasan hails from a lower middle-class family, while Karunakaran belongs to a slightly better background. Abirami will play the love interest of Karunakaran.
