Veteran Actor Vijayakumar Joins BJP

The legendary actor, Vijayakumar, who has made his presence felt in over 800 films has joined the national political party, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). The announcement has not been a surprise for many as Tamil Nadu prepares for an upcoming state assembly election. The actor has worked in several Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu films in his prolonged career. 

The veteran said, “I am known in all the southern states by virtue of my acting in all the regional language movies. People in Tamil Nadu know me well”. He applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government’s several policies. 

Vijayakumar joined the party in the presence of Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan, who was quite optimistic about the victory of his party in forthcoming elections. “This will enable more artistes to join BJP”, he added. The minister further said that the Vijayakumar is well known face among the whole South India, which would subsequently contribute in the success of the party.
