    Veteran Kannada director-dialogue writer Kunigal Nagabhushan is no more

    After a phase of prolonged illness, the eminent dialogue writer and director of the Kannada film industry, Kunigal Nagabhushan expired on Saturday night following a cardiac arrest. The 70-year-old director was hurried off to a private hospital after he complained of breathing problems.

    After getting education in cinematography, he entered the world of films in 1961. He debuted as an assistant director and worked in many films with Dr. Raj Kumar and others. He has also directed some Kannada films, including one which starred Southern superstar Rajinikanth. Later he shifted to writing scripts and dialogues for Kannada films featuring Vishnuvardhan, Shankar Nag and more.

    To name some of his successful projects are Sahodarara Savaal, Simhada Jodi, Oorige Upakari, SP Sangliana and so on. He was also honoured with the state award for writing dialogues in the film Gowri Ganesha, which starred Anant Nag in the lead role. He wrote dialogues for more than 200 films and was titled ‘Navarasa Visharada’. May his soul rest in peace.
