Vijay Sethupathi To Play Theatre Artiste In His 25th Film

Vijay Sethupathi began his journey in Kollywood in 2004 where he usually appeared on screen in side roles. He started his acting career with a Chennai based theatre group named Koothu-P-Pattarai. Now, 13 years later, the actor will be setting his own milestone with 25 films in his kitty. His upcoming film ‘Seethakathi’ will be his 25th project, which has been directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan.

Recently, Balaji spoke with DeccanChronicle about the upcoming film and revealed that Sethupathi will play a theatre artiste. “Sethupathi plays the role of ‘Ayya’ and the title Seethakaathi has a significant relevance to the script. Ayya is a theatre artiste in the film and the story is about an art and the life of a stage performer”. He added that the movie does not have a heroine because there are no romantic interludes.

This doesn’t mean that the film will have no actresses. Since it shows Sethupathi as an actor, heroines like Ramya Nambeesan and others appear on the shooting spot scenes. The cast also includes Archana in a pivotal role and actor/director Mouli as an important character as well.
