Vijay’s ‘Theri’ Betters Record Of Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran’

After the debacle of ‘Puli’, Vijay was eager to bounce back with his next film. Not only he got back to critics with ‘Theri’, he also shattered many existing records in Kollywood. The film stormed the box office and did superb business overseas as well.

The Atlee directorial managed to collect Rs. 100 crore by the end of its first seven days in theatres. The flick has completed 25 successful days in theatres today and still many theatres across Tamil Nadu are screening the film. It has also bettered the record of Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran’ by collecting a distributor's share of Rs.55 crore alone in Tamil Nadu.

The action entertainer has also crossed the box office collections of Vijay’s previous blockbusters ‘Kaththi’ and ‘Thuppakki’. Despite big releases like ‘24’ and ‘Manithan’, ‘Theri’ has managed to hold on to many screens across the state. Hopefully, it will surpass the records of many other films in the coming days.
