Vijay’s ‘Theri’ Crosses Rs. 1 Crore Mark On Opening Day

Vijay’s much awaited film ‘Theri’ was released worldwide yesterday. There was huge buzz around the film despite the fact that the last offering of the actor failed to perform at the box office. People rushed in large numbers on the opening day of the film and unsurprisingly the film created records on the very first day.

According to reports, the Atlee directorial grossed over Rs. 1 crore on its opening day. It became the first Tamil film to reach the 1 crore mark on the first day of its release. The action-entertainer grossed Rs.1, 04, 98,350 on the day of its release and that too in Chennai only.

The flick was released on a grand scale in the U.S. as well. It created a record there also and managed to make a record collection of $251,123 from the premieres. The film is expected to storm the box office during the weekend. It will be interesting to see how many more milestones the Vijay starrer will achieve.
