'VIP 2' Sets A New Yardstick On Gaana

Dhanush’s upcoming movie ‘VIP 2’ which also stars Bollywood actress Kajol is all set to release on July 28, 2017. However, much before its release, the film has set a new barometer on Gaana, India's favourite music app. The songs of the film have been streamed 2 million times in just 5 days, thereby making it as the fastest album in Kollywood to reach this milestone.

“Tamil is one of largest regional language by music consumption on Gaana, it has grown by more than 150% last year and the trend continues, we have witnessed double- digit month on month growth in the first quarter. 'VIP-2' mega success and record streams further strengthens our belief that music streaming penetration and usage in the regional markets will continue to grow at much faster rate & will be the key to future growth. Gaana app is now available in 9 languages,” said COO of Gaana, Prashan Agarwal.

Dhanush is super happy that people have loved the music of his film so much. He further stated that their hard work has paid off so well. ‘VIP 2’ is a sequel of 2014 Tamil film Velaiilla Pattadhari and is directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth.
