    'Wasn’t Expecting Visaaranai's Oscars Entry’, Says Vetri Maaran

    Kollywood fans are rejoicing. After the gap of 16 years, a Tamil movie has been selected as India’s official entry to Oscar. It was Kamal Haasan’s Hey Ram and now the work of Vetri Maaran’s spine chilling Visaaranai is being rewarded. The movie is based on a novel form M. Chandrakumar, Lock Up, highlighting the cruelty of police.

    "This - the film going for the Oscars announcement - was a very unexpected thing. But we are happy. And when I when I think this is the beginning of a new journey, it's exciting, and spurs me on to get on with the job at hand”, excited Vetri said.

    The ace director added that he is figuring out how to take the movie forward and learning the process. Vetri said that he knew that the movie was good, but wasn’t expecting such response. He thanked everyone involved with this film and the audiences involved.
