When Ajith’s Loss Became Vijay’s Gain...

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie ‘Bairavaa’ is scheduled for release on January 14, next year. Apparently, the auspicious occasion of Pongal brings along good luck for the versatile actor as Vijay’s ‘Friends’ (2001), ‘Thirupaachi’ (2005) and ‘Pokkiri’ (2007) also released on the grand festival and went on to become blockbusters.

Recently, in an interview, filmmaker Perarasu disclosed a secret about ‘Thirupaachi’. We are well acquainted with the fact that the director and actor Ajith Kumar worked together in a 2006 film ‘Thirupathi’ but we could have got to see the collaboration between the two even before, only if Ajith hadn’t had date issues. Perarasu revealed that he penned the script of ‘Tirupachi’ for the Vedalam actor.

But then, Vijay was available and Perarasu went ahead with the project with the Puli actor. The filmmaker also revealed that Ajith was happy about Perarasu teaming up with Vijay. Well, it goes without saying that Ajith’s loss became Vijay’s gain. This is in addition to ‘Nanda’, ‘Gemini’, ‘Gajini' and ‘Naan Kadavul’, all of which were also originally written for Ajith. But, due to various reasons, he had to miss it.
