Why This Kolaveri Di Reaches More Than 12.5 Crore Views On YouTube

Released back in 2012, Dhanush's viral hit 'Why This Kolaveri Di’ from the film ‘3’, is still going strong. The video has now crossed 12.5 crore views on YouTube. The song is a compilation of some of the struggles faced by men. Recently, Regional Director of Google Asia Pacific, Ajay Vidyasagar, spoke about the success of the song and said that a lot of their signature success started with it.

“Lot of our signature success started from 'Why This Kolaveri Di' six years back. It has received 12.5 crore views and that number is still growing”, Ajay shared, adding, “This piece of creativity keeps winning again and again due to community fans”. Talking about some statistics, Ajay stated that the YouTube viewership has increased a lot in the past few years as rural and small towns are also moving in that direction.

On the work front, Dhanush was last seen in ‘Pa Paandi’, which he directed and had a guest appearance. The actor has a few films in the pipeline which include ‘Enai Noki Paayum Thota’, ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari 2’ and ‘Vada Chennai’. He also has an English language film lined up for 2018 which has been titled ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir ‘.
