Will Ajith’s ‘Vedalam’ Surpass ‘I’ And ‘Kaththi’?

Kollywood saw a number of blockbusters this year. Many films impressed the audiences and fetched a huge amount of moolah at the box office. Nayantara’s ‘Maya’ and ‘Thani Oruvan’, Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Kaaki Sattai’ Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Naanum Rowdydhaan’, Dhanush’s ‘Anegan’ and many more were appreciated by the audiences. But the year belongs to Thala Ajith.

According to reports, Ajith’s last offering ‘Vedalam’ turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of Kollywood. The Siva directorial became the biggest hit of his career. The flick managed to collect over Rs 110 crore.

The action-drama got the biggest opening ever for a Tamil movie till date. It managed to collect Rs. 15.5 crore on its very first day. Despite the fact that Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thoongavanam’ released on the same date, the movie’s business remained unaffected. Ajith has shown why he is called the Thala of Kollywood. It will be interesting to see whether it will be able to surpass the lifetime collections of Vijay’s ‘Kaththi’ and Shankar’s ‘I’.
