Will Kajal Aggarwal Lead In Ramesh Aravind’s ‘Queen’?

Ever since the Tamil remake of ‘Queen’ has been announced, the makers have looked high and low to finalize the cast and crew for the film. Earlier, actress Tamannaah was roped in to reprise Kangana Ranaut’s character and the movie was supposed to be directed by Revathy. However, the latest tidings suggest that the role will now be performed by Kajal Aggarwal in the direction of Ramesh Aravind. "Yes, Kajal has been approached for the film. Presently, she is not in the country, and will finalise things once she's back", confirmed a source.

Actor-director Ramesh, who had been caught up in various Kannad projects, is glad to be back in Kollywood. "I was held up with a couple of Kannada projects in the meantime. Now, I am happy to be back in Tamil with a huge project like this. Initially, I was supposed to direct only the Telugu and Kannada versions. But Revathy got held up with other commitments, which is why I was brought on board. I am glad as I am comfortable in Tamil. The idea is to finish shooting and post-production by end of December for both the films. I started shooting the Kannada version from yesterday. We will be finalising the cast and crew for Tamil in a week's time", says the director.

A source reported Ramesh’s view for the remake, "For me, only the story is remade. It will not be remade in its entirety. I will be adding elements that work for the respective versions and yet will keep the essence of the original intact", said Madhu Masa actor. The movie will be set in Karur-Tiruppur region but will also have portions shot in Paris and Amsterdam. Desimartini hopes that the movie fares well at box office.
