Without My fans, I Am Nothing: AR Rahman

Without My fans, I Am Nothing: AR Rahman

Music maestro AR Rahman has completed 25 long years in Indian cinema. And to celebrate his success in the Indian film industry, the musical genius performed for 90 minutes at the IIFA awards which were held in New York. Just like Indians, New York audiences seemed to be pleased with Rahman’s mix of Tamil and Hindi tracks.

During a press conference Rahman said, “I think it was kind of IIFA to invite me and celebrate 25 years of my musical journey. I loved performing, even though it was raining heavily. We were actually terrified, since it was raining and our equipment were all wet. The band was courageous and people were very supportive. We enjoyed the concert and that gave us the energy to perform.”

“Without my fans, I am nothing,” said the Oscar winner musician.  At IIFA awards, Rahman played a blend of Tamil and Bollywood songs. He played his popular numbers such as Urvasi Urvasi, Humma Humma, Dil Se, Maiyya Maiyaa and of course his Oscar winning track, Jai Ho. Jamming alongside him were top singers Hariharan, Kailash Kher, Mika Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Jonita Gandhi, Neeti Mohan, Javed Ali, Kamaal Khan and Haricharan Seshadri.
