Y Gee Mahendra To Reiterate His Role Of JKB In Oh Andha Naatkal!

Director James Vasanthan is preparing for his upcoming film titled Oh Andha Naatkal! which is based on K Balachander’s TV serial Sahana. The flick will feature Khusbhu, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Urvashi, Suhasini Maniratnam and veteran actor Y Gee Mahendra in lead roles. Mahendra will be seen reprising the same role that he played in the serial.

The movie has one more interesting aspect. The four actresses will be reprising some of the popular characters from their films. Khushbu will play the character of Meena that she portrayed in Mannan, Radhika will essay the role of Radha which she played in Rettai Vaal Kuruvi, Urvashi will be seen as Thiripurasundari from Michael Madana Kama Rajan and Suhasini will play the role of Sindhu which she essayed in Sindhu Bhairavi.

Y Gee will portray the character of JKB, the lead character of Sindhu Bhairavi, a Carnatic singer. The role of JKB was played by Sivakumar in the film Sindhu Bhairavi which released in 1985, while Y Gee had played it in the sequel, Sahana. "The film's climax will have this character making an appearance. I'm happy to be playing JKB again; it's with this character that KB showed me that I could do serious roles, too," says Y Gee Mahendra.
