Akhil Akkineni’s Next To Star Priyadarshan’s Daughter Kalyani In Lead

Nagarjuna's son Akhil Akkineni’s second film went on floors in April without any confirmation on the lead actress. With several names in minds, it seems like the filmmakers have finally singled out the one who’ll star opposite the Akhil actor. According to recent reports, Kalyani, daughter of director Priyadarshan and his former wife and actress Lissy, has been approached to play the lead in the film.

The upcoming film is being helmed by Vikram Kumar of ‘Manam' fame and produced by Nagarjuna. The action sequences for the film are canned under Hollywood stunt coordinator Bob Brown’s supervision. Revealing about Kalyani being a part of the flick, a source was quoted as saying, “She has been approached and the film could mark her acting debut, considering she gives the nod”.

“However, the makers are keeping their options open. They want a fresh face for the leading lady of the film as the character needs it. They are also keen to cast someone who is a good performer”, the source added. Kalyani has earlier served as the assistant art director for Vikram-starrer ‘Inkokkadu’.
