Another Movie Indrasena Gets Into GST Trouble

Another Movie Indrasena Gets Into GST Trouble

After the controversies regarding the dialogues mocking the government’s GST regimen of the dubbed version of Tamil hit Mersal, Adirindi, it was a tough job for the makers to get it released. However, the film got clearance from the censor board for the Tamil version and was released. But now once again another film is in the loop.

The film Indrasena, which stars Vijay Antony in the lead is facing the same problem. Surprisingly, a song in the film contains the word GST, which is the reason for the problem. However, there is nothing related to the criticism of the government or the taxing system. The censor board has been ordered to omit anything closely related to the word or the government.

Owner of the Telugu distribution rights Neelam Krishna Reddy said, “It’s not even a reference of GST; we have just used the word in a song. We had to replace GST with EMI”. It has been heard that the producer had a strong argument with the censor board officials, however, they didn’t agree and got the upper hand.
