According to reports, Anushka Shetty can be roped in to star as Jyothika in the Telugu remake of ‘Naachiyaar’. Reportedly, the rights of Telugu remake of the hit Tamil film ‘Naachiyaar’ has been purchased by the producer Kalpana Koneru. The rumour mills are churning news that makers of the film approached the starlet to play Jyothika’s role after her previous portrayal of the actress' part in ‘Nagavalli’.

There were reports that the film ‘Naachiyaar’, originally produced and directed by Bala , revolved around a hot-headed IPS officer who was assigned the duty of investigating a sexual harassment case.
