Baahubali beats Rajinikanth’s Enthiran Box Office Record

Baahubali, after the second week of its release has become the first South Indian film to enter Rs. 300 crore club in just 9 days. The film has surpassed the records that Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran made.  Enthiran made about Rs. 290 crores.

Trade analyst Trinath told IANS, “As of Saturday, the film has grossed Rs.303 crore worldwide”. He continued, “The Hindi version of the film has netted around 60 crore, setting a new record for a dubbed film. Despite the onslaught of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘, the numbers of ‘Baahubali’ have not been affected”. Baahubali is a two part war based film, which has a budget of over Rs. 250 crores. The second part of the film is schedule to release next year.

By far, only Bollywood films from the Khans have made such records. The highest record has been set by Aamir Khan starrer PK. Since it’s been just two weeks that Baahubali has released, it is expected that the film will set even a bigger record, surpassing most of the Bollywood blockbusters.
