    The five members Oscar selection panel is in Hyderabad to inspect more than 45 films. The panel, which is headed by Amol Palekar, will be choosing India's official entry for the next Academy Awards. According to the latest information, ‘Baahubali’ is the official entry from the Telugu film industry as per the announcement of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.

    ‘Baahubali’ to Make Entry into Oscars?

    The epic historical fiction film directed by S. S. Rajamouli will be competing with Bollywood biggies like Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Ugly’, Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Haider’ and Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Mary Kom’.  The film was simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil and dubbed into Hindi, Malayalam and French languages. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty were in the lead roles.

    ‘Baahubali’ was released worldwide on July 10 and garnered positive reviews from critics. The movie will now probably enter into the Oscars. However, an official confirmation this will be made on September 25. The last official Telugu movie that made an entry to the Oscars was K Viswanath-Kamal Haasan’s ‘Swati Mutyam’.
