    Soon after the South Indian film industry started rejoicing noted Tamil singer Bombay Jayashri’s Oscar nomination, the lullaby finds itself amid plagiarism controversy. According to reports, the song in Hollywood director Ang Lee's much-acclaimed filmLife of Pi,whichissung and written by Bombay Jayashri, is similar to the Malayalam lullabyOmanathinkal kidavo,which was composed by noted Malayalam poet Iryimman Thampi in the 18th century. Now Thampi’s relatives have alleged that theLife of Pisong which has Mychael Danna’s music has been lifted from the poem. Recently Oscar-winner A R Rahman'sChallasong ofJab Tak Hai Jaanhad also been criticized for being a copy of English songSave Tonight.
