Daggubati Venkatesh's ‘Guru’ Wraps Up

It’s a known fact that the Telugu remake of critically acclaimed Madhavan-starrer Bollywood boxing drama ‘Saala Khadoos’ is titled ‘Guru’. The Tollywood version stars Daggubati Venkatesh as the male lead and is helmed by Sudha Kongara, who also wielded the megaphone for the original. The movie depicts the story of a washed-up coach who finds a boxing champion in a fish-seller, essayed by Ritika Singh.

The latest we hear about the flick is that the shooting of the sports drama has been completed. The movie is set against the backdrop of boxing sport. The last leg of the shooting schedule concluded in Chennai.

The Telugu version stars Ritika Singh reprising her role. The flick went on floor this past September. The movie also stars Mumtaz Sorcar, M. Nassar and a few other prominent actors playing pivotal roles. The film is bankrolled by YNot Studios and is scheduled for a Republic Day release, next year. The audio is expected to get launched around the first week of January.
