Dasari Narayana Rao is a very senior personality of the Tollywood film fraternity. The 69-year-old man has directed about 151 films, produced 53 films and worked in more than 250 films as a dialogue writer and lyricist. He has been associated with the Tollywood industry for more than four decades.

At the venue of the Santosh Film Awards, Dasari said, “The government completely ignores the film awards which encourage artistes. These awards are a big boost to film persons to showcase their talent.” On the other hand, he praised private organisation such as Kondeti Suresh for honouring Tollywood with awards.

The film-maker mentioned that the very tradition of giving awards was commenced by the state government only. In this event, the awards for the best actor and villain were given to Prabhas and Rana Daggubati for ‘Baahubali’ respectively. ‘Rudhramadevi’ was adjudged the best film and Anushka became the best actress for portraying the character.
