    The highly successful Telugu film Eega, a revenge-drama by S. S. Rajamouli, has been selected to be screened at Cannes International Film Fesitval's film market section on May 20. The journey of the film doesn’t end there. It will also feature at 16th Shanghai International Film Festival’s panorama section, which would continue from June 15-23.

    Producer Shobu Yarlagadda tweeted on the Cannes selection, "Going to attend Cannes film festival and the Film Market. First time going to any festival. We are also screening 'Eega' in the Cannes Film Market (March Du Film) on the 20th.” On the other hand Rajamouli microblogged on the Shanghai festival, "We got the official confirmation this morning. 'Eega' has been selected in the panorama section of Shanghai International Film Festival".

    The director said further, "These are small steps into venturing into newer markets. Hoping to make some breakthroughs, however small they might be.” Eega, which revolves around a young man reborn as a housefly to take revenge on his killers, stars Nani, Kiccha Sudeep and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in leading roles. The film was also released in Hindi as Makkhi and in Tamil renamed Naan Ee. After it became a huge grosser at the box-office, Eega was also honoured with two National Awards for best special effects and best Telugu film.
